Happy Thanksgiving from Lyons, Colorado
. . . and "Happy Thanksgiving" TO Lyons. Thanks to all of the volunteers, the National Guard and the Army, public services, and everyone who helped Lyons get back on its feet after the flooding in September.
There is still a lot of work to be done, and many people are still affected by the damage done. But things are getting better.
So - THANKS!
Lyons, Colorado. Thanksgiving Day 2013.
Massive rainbow over Lyons the morning of 25 Nov 2013. Lasted only one minute, but it was a beauty.
Sunrises, moon sets
A couple of nice sunrises last week:
A cloud bank lies just east of the Continental Divide, with some lenticular shapes protruding.
The morning sun briefly flashes off Mt. Meeker and Long's Peak before rising above the clouds to the east [behind us in this view], smothering everything in shadow.
And a shot of the full moon descending towards the western horizon:
Purple alpenglow suffuses the horizon as the full moon sets just at sunrise.
Last light over the Divide
This is something I have never done before. Combining two things I love, but have always done separately. Something for the eyes and something for the ears. I think they work well together. I hope you like it. Turn up your speakers!
