31 July 2009: Jyogasaki Kaigan 城ヶ崎海岸 [photos from 19 July] In mid-summer, the hot and humid weather, and regular rainfall, encourage rampant plant growth and plenty of insect activity on Japan's Izu Peninsula. We will still have about two more months of hot weather before the shortening daylight hours and changing weather patterns bring cooler air to the region.
