23 Jan 2009: hong kong afternoon I had the rare free time to spend part of an afternoon walking from Causeway Bay west towards Admiralty. It had been a pretty hazy day. Still, there was some interesting light towards sundown. I finally got the chance to shoot one of my favorite buildings in Hong Kong - Lippo Centre, also known as "The Koala Trees" because the offset walls resemble Koala Bears gripping a pair of tree trunks. The buildings were completed in 1987 and were taken over by the Lippo Group after the bankruptcy of the Bond Corporation. The taller of the two towers reaches a height of 186 meters. |
