17 May 2009: 河津七ダル Kawazu Nanadaru [photos from 30 April 2009] From the Old Amagi Tunnel, you can descend through thick forests of mixed hardwood and conifers, see a 100-thousand-ton rock, seven major waterfalls, wasabi fields, and plenty of natural beauty. Old Amagi Tunnel ![]() ![]() Map of Japan, centered on the Old Amagi Tunnel Use the controls to zoom, or pan by dragging the map with your mouse. The map is centered on Old Amagi Tunnel - part of the old road between the temple town of Shuzenji in central Izu, and Shimoda at the southern tip of the penninsula. Unfortunately, Google Maps doesn't have imagery of this area of Japan at very good resolution, so although you can get a sense of the landscape, you can't really see the bridge in satellite/terrain view, but you can get a sense of its shape and size by looking at the map view. |
